BLACK Women, are you ready? a "Call To Action" Community Building. Join The Movement.
The BLACK Women in MUSIC Festival (The BWIMF) is not just a festival. It is a movement, a safe space, and a cultural homecoming.
Born from the souls of Black People, Black Music and the lived experiences of Black Women in America and the Diaspora, The BWIMF is a celebration of our history, our creativity, and our power to heal and uplift. We honor the legacy of the music that once centered Black women—where every lyric, every note, and every image reflected our beauty, our love, and our strength. Whether written and sung by Black men or Black Women, the focus was always on loving the Black Woman.
In fact, the reason these Black men became famous at all was explicitly due to the love and support of the Black Woman. Without her love of his music to her, and about her, buying their songs, and supporting their concerts and performances, they would not have been the superstars they became. And the men who also purchased these recordings, did so because of the love of the music and the Black Women they sang about.
The music spoke to their souls through the lyrics and the talented artists who performed them. Thus, the reason Black Music was called Soul Music.
The Soul of the Music spoke to the Souls of Black People.
Our Mission:
To restore, celebrate, and amplify the authentic voices and stories of Black Women in music and culture.
We are here to heal, to empower, and to create a new narrative—one that is written by us, for us, and for the world to witness and celebrate.
What Makes The BWIMF Unique?
Our Vision:
A world where Black Women are celebrated, honored, and empowered in every note, every story, and every space.
A world where our music, our families, and our futures are shaped by our own hands and voices.
Join the Movement. Be the Change. Welcome Home.

Despite the significant contributions of Black women, as a whole, in music and all industries, they often face systemic barriers, underrepresentation, and a lack of support networks. The challenges of reclaiming their heritage and addressing mental, emotional and financial well-being persist within this community, creating a need for dedicated spaces that promote healing, empowerment, and mutual support and sustainability.
The BLACK Women in MUSIC Festival tackles these challenges by offering a safe and dedicated space for Black women to connect, engage in meaningful conversations, participate in healing practices, and support one another. Additionally, the festival features the BLACK Women in MUSIC Festival BROADCAST Internet Radio Station and the BLACK Women in MUSIC Festival Wellness Retreat, along with an exclusive e-commerce site for members. These initiatives promote their artistry, products, and services while fostering a strong sense of community and economic empowerment.
