BLACK Women, are you ready? a "Call To Action" Community Building. Join The Movement.
The BLACK Women in MUSIC Festival (The BWIMF) is not just a festival. It is a movement, a safe space, and a cultural homecoming.
Born from the souls of Black People, Black Music and the lived experiences of Black Women in America and the Diaspora, The BWIMF is a celebration of our history, our creativity, and our power to heal and uplift. We honor the legacy of the music that once centered Black women—where every lyric, every note, and every image reflected our beauty, our love, and our strength. Whether written and sung by Black men or Black Women, the focus was always on loving the Black Woman.
In fact, the reason these Black men became famous at all was explicitly due to the love and support of the Black Woman. Without her love of his music to her, and about her, buying their songs, and supporting their concerts and performances, they would not have been the superstars they became. And the men who also purchased these recordings, did so because of the love of the music and the Black Women they sang about.
The music spoke to their souls through the lyrics and the talented artists who performed them. Thus, the reason Black Music was called Soul Music.
The Soul of the Music spoke to the Souls of Black People.
Our Mission:
To restore, celebrate, and amplify the authentic voices and stories of Black Women in music and culture.
We are here to heal, to empower, and to create a new narrative—one that is written by us, for us, and for the world to witness and celebrate.
What Makes The BWIMF Unique?
Our Vision:
A world where Black Women are celebrated, honored, and empowered in every note, every story, and every space.
A world where our music, our families, and our futures are shaped by our own hands and voices.
Join the Movement. Be the Change. Welcome Home.
At the heart of The BLACK Women in MUSIC Festival is a living, breathing cooperative—a place where creativity, culture, and community come together to build a brighter future. Our co-op isn’t just a place to live; it is a movement rooted in the legacy of Black women’s resilience, artistry, and leadership.
Here, families, artists, educators, and visionaries join forces to create a self-sustaining, supportive environment where everyone’s gifts are valued. Through shared resources, collective decision-making, and a spirit of mutual aid, we’re redefining what it means to thrive—together.
Whether you’re a lifelong musician, a young dreamer like Queen, or someone seeking a place to belong, our co-op welcomes you. Step inside, get involved, and help us build a community where every voice is heard, every talent is nurtured, and every story matters.
Meet Queen, a beautiful, bright, creative 12-year-old girl who’s about to embark on a journey of discovery, community, and self-empowerment. As she settles into her family’s new co-op home, Queen is ready to explore her world, connect with her neighbors, and find her voice in a world that doesn’t always see her for who she truly is.
Join Queen as she navigates the challenges and triumphs of growing up Black in America, celebrating her heritage, and inspiring others to embrace their own unique stories. Through her eyes, we’ll explore themes of family, community, identity, and the power of music to heal, connect, and uplift.
Get ready to laugh, cry, and cheer as Queen takes center stage in a series that is as heartwarming as it is revolutionary. Welcome to Queen’s World—where every story is a song, and every voice matters.
